Overview: The Tucson Bicycle Classic is a four-day, 4-stage USA Cycling Pro Stage Race (Pro-1-2 - timed) and four day, 4-stage Omnium (all others - points). For those racing the Omnium, it means you can miss one of the stages entirely, do poorly on a stage without too much damage, and still be competitive.
Daily GC jerseys are awarded to each racing group. “Best” sub-category winners on GC will receive awards after the last stage.
Keeping things fresh for 2027:
Team Limited: All TBC race groups are team limited to a maximum of 10 riders per team. If on February 8 there are fewer than 100 riders registered for Pros or the field limit has not been met for other groupings, the number of riders per team may be increased for those categories to a maximum of 12 riders per team.
Equipment: The ITT is “Merckx style” for everyone. Current USAC regulations changes forbid the “puppy paws” position on ALL stages including the time trial.
Details: For course layouts, times, distances and venue locations see Tech Guide to be posted at https://www.tucsonbicycleclassic.com/
Please note that this is a working document. The final and definitive version is online, and may be updated through the day before racing begins.
Refunds: Your entry is your commitment to race. Our policy is “no refunds”. We provide great early season racing. However, if something out of your control happens that prevents you from racing, shoot us a message. Depending on the situation we may be able to offer a partial credit toward's next year's event. You can also transfer your entry to another person, for a small fee, until the close of online registration. The value of the transfer is the amount you originally paid. Refunds for the Grand Fondo are not available.
