The Fuego cross-country races are the mountain bike side of the Life Time Sea Otter Classic at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, racing on the sandy climbs and singletrack of Fort Ord National Monument. Fuego XL on Saturday April 17, 2027 is three laps for roughly 70 miles; the traditional Fuego XC on Sunday April 18 is a single lap of about 23 miles. All Fuego courses are new for 2027 and riders start in self-seeded corrals by estimated finish time.
Fuego XL is a qualifier for the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB (at least 35 coins) and, new for 2027, the second half of the Sea Otter Grand Prix Qualifier: Pro riders who race both Sea Otter Gravel on Thursday and Fuego XL on Saturday compete for the remaining 14 men's and 14 women's spots in the 2027 Life Time Grand Prix. Registration is open on Let's Do This; early-bird entry is $150 through December 8, 2026, rising to $160 and then $180.
