The Low Gap Grasshopper opens the 2027 Grasshopper Adventure Series on January 31, 2027 in Ukiah, California. The mixed-terrain course climbs Masonite Road and runs Low Gap Road through Mendocino County timberland, with a 59-mile long course (about 6,585 ft of climbing, 95% dirt) and a 37-mile short course (about 4,098 ft).
Much of the route crosses Mendocino Redwood Company land that is open only to registered riders, who must sign the landowner's waiver and may ride it only the weekend before and the weekend of the event. Riders gather at Todd Grove Park and roll to a staged start on Masonite Road with separate category waves; the weekend also includes a shakeout ride, packet pickup at the Ukiah Welcome Center and a lunch and after-party. Part of the proceeds goes to the NorCal Cycling League GRiT program and Monarch Racing.
