The Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB, the 'Race Across the Sky', returns to Leadville, Colorado on August 14, 2027. First run in 1994, the 100-mile out-and-back course starts and finishes on Harrison Avenue at 10,152 feet, climbs to about 12,500 feet at the Columbine Mine turnaround and gains roughly 12,000 feet along the way, with riders chasing the silver and gold belt buckles inside a 12-hour cutoff. It is round 3 of the 2027 Life Time Grand Prix and carries a $60,000 pro prize purse.
Entry is by lottery: the 2027 lottery is open December 1-15, 2026 (free to enter, results January 6, 2027), and the entry fee is $575 if selected. Riders can also earn a spot through Leadville Race Series qualifier coins (Sea Otter Fuego XL, Lutsen 99er, Silver Rush 50 MTB, Leadville Stage Race, Little Sugar MTB, Austin Rattler MTB), Camp + Entry packages, coaching packages or charity entries. The 2027 course has not been published; 2026 used a Willow Fire reroute around Turquoise Lake.
