The Curt Brown Memorial GP will be held at Babcock Shelter at South Park for a 4th year.
Note the race will be held at the same site as last year. Its off of Sesqui Drive on the right hand side 1/2 mile after turning off McConkey Drive not far from the old race site (the Wave Pool).
The Curt Brown Memorial Grand Prix presented by the Nugo Racing Team will be the fourth race in the WPCX cyclocross series. This race (hosted by the Koeles Cycling Club/ Nugo Racing Team) commemorates the life of our recently deceased teammate Curt Brown, a cycling legend both for his cycling exploits (see his Strava KOMs!) as well as his enthusiastic support of those in the cycling community. We mourn his loss and honor him with this annual race he loved.
In honor of Curt, all proceeds from this event will be donated to the recovery fund for Tofik Beshir, a 19 year up and coming cyclocross racer who was hit head on by a motorist and has suffered serious head trauma as a result. As a result, there will be no cash payouts this year, only donated prizes.
Kate Brown, Curt Brown's wife, will again be donating money to this event. Thank you Kate!!!
Nugo Nutrition, the main team sponsor, will again be providing Nugo bars for all. Candy prizes will also be on hand for the kid's race.
