Let’s run it back. If we aren’t racing for pies, are we really even racing? Lucky for us, we won’t have to wonder any longer as Bishops Orchards, True Cyclery, and the NHBC are thrilled to present the Orchard Scorcher Sunday, November 30. For the second year running, this course will twist and turn around the blueberry orchard, the apple trees, and maybe even the corn maze at 480 New England Rd., Guilford, CT 06437. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Important Event Details
- Please take note of the venue address! This race will not take place at the main Bishops Orchard Farm Market, for those of you that have raced this event in the past. The race will take place at their Blueberry Picking location (don't worry, it's still an apple orchard too!) located at 480 New England Road.
- Pre-ride available on Saturday November 29th. Please sign up if you are interested in pre-riding the course on Saturday 11/29. The course will be open between 12 pm - 3 pm. The property is gated, so you will not be able to access the course before 12 pm and you must be done with your pre-ride by 3 pm. See the course map below!
- Sadly, no dogs this year. As bummed as we are to leave our fur-babies at home, Bishops Orchard does not allow dogs due to their status and regulations they are under as a working food producer.
- Parking is on site. There should be plenty of available parking when you pull into the venue. If not, there will be an overflow lot provided.
- Food and Drink! We will keep you satiated with food and drink throughout the day. Minnow Coffee & Matcha will be there in the morning selling espresso-based drinks! The Caseus Crispy Melty Food Truck will be on site early as well to offer up breakfast, grilled cheese sandwiches, and soups to keep you toasty warm! Additionally Bishop's Orchard will have cider (hard and not-hard) for sale on site. So come hungry and show our food partners some love on the day of the event!
- Bring your friends and families! We are planning to have a jungle jim made of tires to climb on, a separate kids track, music, and food for the day, so invite your friends and family along to come cheer the racers on.
- Staging for all fields is determined first by Project Mayhem CX series point (available here) for the front row and then by crossresults points for all pre-registered participants. Day-of registrants (effective after we assign bibs on Saturday, Nov 29th at 12 pm) will be staged at the back. Staging will start 15 minutes prior to each race, please be on time. If you miss your call up, you will be staged at the discretion of USAC Officials!

- PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! It's the single biggest thing you can do to help us make sure the race is ready for everyone that ends up coming!
- Price goes up to $50 for senior fields and $30 for junior fields and beginner series on Sunday November 23rd and $10 more on Saturday, November 29th at 12 pm. So again…sign up early!
